Shhhh – Original Airbrush Painting | 12" x 18" | SEMA 2024 Concept

Shhhh – Original Airbrush Painting | 12" x 18" | SEMA 2024 Concept

A striking blend of beauty, mystery, and dark fantasy, Shhhh is a one-of-a-kind original airbrush painting by professional artist Scott MacKay.

This captivating piece features a close-up portrait of a woman transitioning into a haunting skeletal form, with a finger pressed gently against her lips in a silent gesture. Painted in soft monochromatic tones with subtle purple accents, the artwork combines realistic portraiture, intricate skeletal details, and dramatic lighting to create an image that is both beautiful and unsettling.

This 12" x 18" painting is the original artwork that inspired a much larger, more elaborate Lowrider-style panel painting of the same name, created for the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas and featured in the Anest Iwata display.

The original concept focuses on the central portrait, allowing the fine details, smooth shading, textures, and contrasting elements to take center stage. The selective use of purple in the eye, fingernail, and surrounding tones adds a subtle splash of color to the otherwise monochromatic composition.

The design was later expanded into a larger custom-painted showpiece, incorporating elaborate Lowrider-inspired panel graphics while maintaining this original portrait as its centerpiece.
