Lady Reaper – Original Freehand Airbrush Painting | 12" x 18" | SEMA 2019

A haunting blend of dark beauty, gothic fantasy, and custom automotive painting, this one-of-a-kind Female Grim Reaper painting was created live by professional airbrush artist Scott MacKay at the 2019 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, inside the House of Kolor booth.

This unique interpretation of the Grim Reaper takes a different approach to the traditional figure of death, portraying her as a mysterious, haunting female Reaper. Draped in flowing robes and wielding a massive scythe, she emerges from a dark, storm-filled atmosphere while conjuring an eerie green flame from her skeletal hand.

Painted entirely freehand, without stencils or masking, the artwork showcases intricate details, realistic textures, smooth shading, and dramatic lighting. The predominantly monochromatic black, white, and gray palette is accented by vibrant green flames that illuminate her face and skeletal features, creating a striking contrast against the dark background.

Created using House of Kolor urethane paints on a 12" x 18" solid aluminum panel, 0.080" thick, the painting combines fine art illustration with professional automotive painting materials and techniques.

The entire piece is finished in a professional show-quality high-gloss clearcoat, enhancing the depth, contrast, and richness of the artwork while providing a durable automotive-grade finish.
